What are the Reasons for the Unsmooth Surface of CNC Machined Parts of Aluminum Shell?

21   |   Published by VMT at Aug 19 2022

In the process of CNC machining parts of aluminum shell, sometimes due to improper handling or other reasons, the surface of CNC machining parts of aluminum shell often appears unsmooth. The appearance of its problems is likely to affect the quality of CNC machined parts made of aluminum casings. So what is the reason for the unsmooth surface of CNC machining parts of aluminum casing? Personally summarize the following 6 points:

The reasons for the unsmooth surface of CNC machining parts of aluminum shell are as follows:

1. CNC machining program (feed amount, cutting amount, spindle speed, etc.) writing problems

Workaround: Change the program to debug to the best parameters

2. The tool is damaged, not sharp and the performance of the coolant is not up to standard.

Solution: Replace the new knife, use aluminum high-gloss knife, and the last knife in the shape of the knife is 0.015-0.03 to ensure good slag discharge from the tool, and do not cause the tool to squeeze slag.

3. The performance of the coolant is not up to standard and the concentration does not match

Solution: replace the appropriate cutting fluid, measure the cutting fluid concentration, and debug to the best concentration

4. The CNC machine tool is not stable according to the device, and the machine tool shakes during CNC machining.

Solution: re-calibrate the level of the machine tool and fix it, check whether the foundation is earthquake-resistant and whether it needs to be re-ground

5. The lead screw crawls during CNC machining

Solution:

1. The crawling phenomenon is due to the wear or loosening of the guide rails and screws of the CNC machine tool. Replace the machine parts and pay attention to daily maintenance.

2. Replace a good CNC machine tool

6. There are impurities in the CNC machined material

Solution: Check whether the material has impurities, and replace with better CNC machining materials.

Solution summary:

If the CNC machining tool is worn or damaged, you can re-sharpen the tool or replace it with a new tool directly. If the placement is not stable, you need to re-calibrate the level of the machine tool and fix it well. If the coolant performance is not up to standard, you need to replace the coolant suitable for aluminum alloy shell machining. The crawling phenomenon is due to the wear or loosening of the machine tool guide rail and the lead screw. Replace the machine tool accessories and pay attention to daily maintenance: adjust the CNC machining program.
